Starting your own business is like the wildest roller coaster ride you've
ever been on!
Today is a perfect example of where one minute, the rent on my Oklahoma
factory was going to double. Me in a HUGE panic...All day, I was trying to
shuffle pennies around to figure out where I could eek out ANY savings.
Essentially, barrowing from Peter to pay Paul; albeit Peter was dead broke
and Paul didn't give a flip.
So, in the mist of my frantic calculations, my super-star Oklahoma employee
extraordinaire, uncovers in the heart of downtown Skiatook, a beautiful old
brick building with tin ceilings and old wood floors that is the same exact
size for exactly HALF of what I am currently paying!!!!!
I am beyond ecstatic and immediately promised both her and her assistant
raises! (oh well, there went the savings!)
Meanwhile, yesterday out of the blue, we get an order from Carolina
Herrera...my all time favorite designer...and I bragged about it to at least
5 people including my husband....and 4 out of 5 didn't know who she was-No
one could even share a squeal with me..........
And the beat goes on!

Carolina Herrera has the most exquisite men's fragrance on the market. Seriously. It's like crack to me.
Kudos to your cool employee and the move to a neat new downtown building. I love downtown architecture - the older, the better. Something has been lost in the way we designed things in the later half of the modern century. I miss the columns and ornate scrolling. I wanted to live in a downtown loft when I was a kid. Part of me still ooos and aaaahs over that lifestyle. However, I'm content in the edges of suburbia raising the kids for now.
Maybe one day when I'm a grandma, I'll be living in style in the city and have my own buss pass and can of mace. :)
